Mary ScollayTucson, AZ — Equine Medical Director for the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, Dr. Mary Scollay made a stop in the desert to meet with students in the Joe Hirsch Speaker Forum Wednesday afternoon. In a presentation titled “At the Crossroads and In the Crosshairs,” Dr. Scollay addressed the growing concern about the image of racing.

Stressing to students the importance of acknowledging the public’s concerns, Dr. Scollay highlighted the need to be aware of the perception of the sport. With the myriad of stakeholders involved in racing, Dr. Scollay noted that uniting everyone’s interests will not be an easy task, but all will benefit by creating a shared mission that ultimately protects the equine athlete.
